Welcome to the most unique underground fan club in the world. You now belong to an international organization made up of legions of Metalers. Every four or six months you will be receiving a newsletter complete with updated information on DEATH happenings. If you've received this, it is then our understanding at the new DEATH Headquarters that you submitted $5 for membership. We will send you a renewal reminder of $5 at the end of each year. If you would like to continue your membership with DEATH, INC., then submit your renewal at that point. If your name and address is spelled incorrectly, or if you move, please drop us a line so that we may update our mailing list.

In this particular newsletter, you will find a membership card authentically signed by Chuck, a merchandise catalogue that you and your friends can indulge in. You should also receive an autographed picture along with an official DEATH sticker only available to fan club members. This stuff should get you started........... INDIVIDUAL THOUGHT PATTERNS.........

is the new brilliantly created work of DEATH. Recorded once again at MORRISOUND STUDIOS in Tampa, Fla. by the Metal master, Scott Burns. INDIVIDUAL THOUGHT PATTERNS hold a solid mark for lyric/music writer, Chuck Schuldiner. Again, he along with his killer new line up have created the heaviest, moodiest, most intense melodic metal on the market today. With return bassist, Steve DiGiorgio, Gene Hoglan of DARK ANGEL on drums, and a special appearance from Andy LaRocque from KING DIAMOND throwing down some killer leeds, this is the team that will conquer the future of Metal.

INDIVIDUAL THOUGHT PATTERNS is somewhat of a concept album dealing with people of the music business that many bands fall victim to. All the lyrics are reflected through the eyes of it's songwriter, Chuck Schuldiner. Some of you may be wondering what it was like behind the making of INDIVIDUAL.

"It was very exciting working with the new line-up as well as, once more, working with Scott Burns. This album definitely reflects the direction I plan on taking DEATH towards." Chuck explained in confidence.

It begins with OVERACTIVE IMAGINATION , a song about a 'person playing out the leasding role' of a very sick script of life to manipulate and destroy someone in a vulnerable position (specifically being in a band, that is...) DEATH warns this person to BEWARE!

IN HUMAN FORM is the second track on INDIVIDUAL. Here DEATH expresses to the 'people of the Earth beware... it is here in Human Form.. An atrocity laced with greed... Filled with evil intentions... Ready to attack'.. They end by saying 'What comes around, goes around... Shown for what you are -a waste of life'....

ITP then goes into JEALOUSY, one of the critics favorites. Here DEATH explains how people are jealous over talents and gifts that one possesses. They ask ...'What do you want from me... what is it you expect?... I have spoken my mind... From deep inside my soul.' Then DEATH take their stand...

"Behind the eyes, is a place no one will be able to touch... Containing things that cannot be taken away or replaced...... you want what is not yours -Jealousy. You want was you cannot have -Jealousy.'

Next, TRAPPED IN A CORNER, the most musically riveting song on ITP divulges. DEATH's persistant rage and revenge toward these people who take advantage of unsuspecting victims. They say 'It is sickening to see dreams die... A word of advise, Fate's patience is growing short...' DEATH then warns... 'In time you will find yourself... Trapped In A Corner. These four words my friend, I promise you will not forget.' Then ending with the prophesy... 'You will fall short of the dreams to destroy...'

These are only a few of the serious matters that are touched upon and can only be put together by a solid foundation of musicians found on INDIVIDUAL THOUGHT PATTERNS. Crank it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The present Death line up featuring everyone except Andy from KIND DIAMOND, began their conquest in Europe on April 8, headlining a successful festival that began in Germany and ended in Danmark, Ralph Santolla, a guitarist from the Tampa area filled in as Chuck's "right-axe" man. On June 3rd DEATH will play the Waldrock Festival in Holland then continue back to the U.S. to begin their conquest in Tampa, Fla. continuing to Atlanta, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, D.C., New York, Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, Kansas, California, and Texas. There are still quite a fews shows that are to be announced.

There are still a few U.S. dates to be announced. Then in September, DEATH will begin their European tour which will last for about a month or more. DEATH has always very much enjoyed the fans in Europe as they have been very supportive throughout the years. Over 60% of the mail that DEATH receives is from Europe, so they know how important it is to give these vast supporters an exellent show.... See ya then!

DECADE OF

As many of you may know already, this year marks the 10th Anniversary for DEATH. A lot of credit goes to the sole-survivor, Chuck Schuldiner. Who has stuck with the band through thick and thin. And it has proven him well. From SCREAM BLOODY GORE to LEPROSY, SPIRITUAL HEALING and HUMAN to the new critically acclaimed, INDIVIDUAL THOUGHT PATTERNS. Chuck has shown his supporters that DEATH can carry them through the scrutiny of the Metal Scene changes... And shown those who have tried to hurt the strong standing that nothing can stop them from producing and creating a musical direction in which they've led form the beginning.

Those who have been around since the beginning have experienced the musical developement that DEATH has accomplished throughout the years. And it developed so gracially and naturally that one might wonder what is to come. Already, Chuck has the next album in the works which he feels is good because it keeps things fresh with room and time to gradually adapt new ideas that come to him along the way.

Be on the look out for many upcoming articles in local and nation wide mags on DEATH, their history and present happening.

AND THE VIDEO? WELL, IT'S ALREADY BEEN MADE AND SOON TO BE DEBUTED ON MTV. WHAT WILL IT BE? THE PHILOSPHER, OF COURSE!

SUPPORT MUSIC NOT RUMORS

Some of you may wonder what this 'Support Music, not Rumors' campaign is all about. Well, it's very unfortunate that we need to have one to begin with, but it's quite obvious that someone needs to stop the greed, dishonesty and lies that are spread to the fans. In the Music Business, there are certain facets that hold great power over bands and their reputation., One specific facet is the Press, more specifically the writers. They critique and criticize for all the world to see. Some of these writers are ethical and objective in their observations and their approach to a musicians creation. But there are also those who feed and live off the gossip surrounding a musician's life. They have forgotten what the music is all about.

Support Music, Not Rumors is Death's plee for all fans to objectively question the writers of magazines who seem to be more interested in gossip than the music. Before believing something right away, remember there are people in this industry who will stop at nothing to destroy a musicians credibility for their own personal reasons and conflicts. QUESTION THE PRESS. DEATH has experienced this crucifixion in the past, which has been the inspiration of INDIVIDUAL THOUGHT PATTERNS. More specifically, the song MENTALLY BLIND sets the stage for Chuck's dictation to the Press that has screwed him in the past (and even recently), that their false accusations and pretenses will be regretted later on when they will be exposed for their ignorance. But DEATH would like to thank the press that has supported them throughout their career. Writers like Malcolm Dome from England rave proffessionally shown respect and honesty through their continued supportive efforts and are greatly appreciated by bands like DEATH.
